Try Opening The Printer Troubleshooter
To keep the ink from smearing, you can also try troubleshooting the problem using Windows 10 Printer Troubleshooter. Heres how:
One: Remove The Print Cartridges
|
caution:Do not leave the print cartridges outside the printer for longer than 30 minutes. If a cartridge is left uncapped for too long, the ink will dry out and the cartridge will become unusable. Also, be careful not to get any ink on your hands or clothes.
Five: Run A Clean Test
HP Deskjet Toolbox

Internal test from the printer
note:Careful cleaning is usually enough to remove streaks from printed pages. However, it is possible to miss fibers or debris that might interfere with print quality. Repeat the cleaning procedure until the test printout is 100% clear and sharp.

Why Are There Streaks Lines Or The Wrong Colors On My Print
If your print-outs are streaky, faded, have lines on them that should not be there, or are otherwise poor in quality, this may be due to a problem with the printer or a low ink or toner supply.
- Fading text or images
-
You may be running out of ink or toner. Check your ink or toner supply and buy a new cartridge if necessary.
- Streaks and lines
-
If you have an inkjet printer, the print head may be dirty or partially blocked. Try cleaning the print head. See the printers manual for instructions.
- Wrong colors
-
The printer may have run out of one color of ink or toner. Check your ink or toner supply and buy a new cartridge if necessary.
- Jagged lines, or lines are not straight
-
If lines on your print-out that should be straight turn out jagged, you may need to align the print head. See the printers instruction manual for details on how to do this.

Running Out Of A Particular Color
If you run out of a specific color cartridge, your printer may begin to skip lines. This problem is straightforward to spot using the printers test page to find the missing color .
All four cartridges are necessary to create the colors required in everyday printing. Running out of one color prevents the correct mixing of certain hues.
As well as depleting a specific cartridge by repeated use of a single color, cartridges can become faulty and run out of color if stored flat for a prolonged period of time.

Laser Printer Hardware Issues
A laser printer has several hardware components that could cause issues with print quality. One piece of hardware to check is the toner cartridge and drum assembly. Most laser printers include the drum with the toner cartridge. The drum itself can be defective, which results in toner misapplied to paper, or smudged toner due to too much toner applied to the paper. A defective drum can also cause print lines to appear on paper, often in the same place on each piece of paper. Multiple print lines can appear on paper, evenly spaced between each other.
The toner cartridge itself may have toner “leaking” from it, causing excess toner to get on the paper and other parts of the laser printer. Leaking toner, in general, can make a mess on the paper and inside the printer.
Another piece of hardware in a laser printer that causes issues is the fuser. It is the component that fuses, or adheres, the toner to adhere to the paper. When it is not fusing correctly, toner can become smudged on the paper if non-fused toner sticks to the rollers.
In the case of a bad drum or leaking toner, it is best to replace the entire toner cartridge. If you suspect a bad fuser is at fault, it is best to have the laser printer serviced at a repair shop.

Hp Latex 310 Dripping Streaks On Print
HP Latex 300 Series
I have an HP Latex 310, and when I walked into my office this morning, I noticed two lines in the print as if something had leaked and dripped onto the material. In the attached pictures, you can see the streaks and a closeup of where there appears to be condensation or a leak of some sort. When I tried to wipe the streaks, they smeared and appeared oily as if it was optimizer. Has anyone experienced this problem?
#1 HiA lot is being posted about this problem – it’s not the optimiser or ink leaking – material is sticking to the top of the heaters and smears printed image and you can see it when printing exactly how it happens… Try to lower temp, increase vacuum or just pull down the beginning of vinyl with another vinyl…Cheers and good luck.
#1 These marks can be from the Printhead running very close against the media. Check the printing process from start until it exits the curing area. Keep an eye for movement and check if the media especially in the print area may deform, buckle or stutter. Adjust heat if media buckles too much and is causing light strikes against the head it may be too hot. Adjust vacuum if media isn’t holding down . Do this during print in adjustments menu.
Make sure media is travelling out from print area and through curing zone nice and flat. Weight/s may be needed or you may need to feed some of it out first before print.

HP ENVY Photo 6255 printer is printing everything in a streak manner in that it prints normally but has lines where the ink randomly fades, proceeds as normal, fades again rinse and repeat. Ive already tried to clean the cartridges, aligned the cartridges, and cleaned page smudges but none worked. Ive also checked and the cartridge is half full still and was brand new when this problem began.
I would start by changing the black cartridge.
Take a look at step # 8 & 9 in this link.
Hello, but as I said in my post Ive already tried to clean the cartridges, it did not work. I have printed Diagnostic page numerous times and tried the steps it, and this article say to try. They actually progressively seem to make the streaks bigger.
I would start by changing the black cartridge.
