This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Canon. All opinions are 100% mine.
Its no secret that Im in love with my Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer. I use it quite often for crafting and this summer Ive been using the darling sticker prints for fun things all over my house so I decided to share them with you! This little device prints awesome rectangle and pre-cut circle stickers right from your smartphone using the photos on your phone or from your social accounts. You can then add filters, text, stickers, and other fun elements within the Canon Mini Print app to your photo prints. They are super sticky, which makes them perfect for crafts of all different types like Im sharing today. For more detailed information about the Canon IVY, check out our recent YouTube video.
Canon Mini Print App
First things first, after you get a Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer or a Canon IVY CLIQ+2 Instant Camera Printer, youll need to download the Canon Mini Print App to your smartphone. This is how you print photos from your phone, social, and other online storage platforms.
Loading The ZINK Paper
The Canon IVY Mini Printers use a special type of photo paper called ZINK, which stands for zero ink. No need to replace ink cartridges its all built into the photo paper. Each pack has a blue barcode that you add to the printer, face down, so that it reads and calibrates the printer perfectly for the paper youve inserted. Now youre ready to print.

Bringing The Zink With You
These zinc-based printers emerged as of late Whack-a-Moles, so you can only presume they have acquired a little popularity at least. As said, its up to four-image tiling functionality for the larger pictures and collages is the major distinction between the IVY and its competition. The Canon IVY is your Zink if this sounds attractive. With their unique hyperloop technology, the two rival Lifeprint Zink printers enable you to transform your pictures into digital video clips. Besides your friends and familys razzle-dazzle element, tech has some fascinating applications.
For this Zink printer class, speed, printing quality, and ownership costs are all closely grouped. Put the unique functions of Lifeprint in one hand and the IVY in the other, and balance the attractive features. If there is no drawing, you and the others will get a Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer.

Compared To Other Printers
The Canon IVY is a compact photo printer that’s much smaller than the already-compact Canon PIXMA TR150 or HP DeskJet 3755. It doesn’t have any moving parts or ink cartridges, as all the colors are already within the 2″ x 3″ ZINK photo sheets, and it’s great for printing casual photos for on-the-go recreational use. Although it’s designed to print photos, prints only have poor quality and don’t compare to photos produced even by regular color inkjets.
Print Speed And Quality
The little Zink picture printers all churn at the same speeds in 10 to 20 seconds. The print speed varies by frame resolution, real picture size, color depth, and so on. The processing power of the telephone or tablet form which you print depends far more on how quickly these differences are processed.
That said, in less than a minute the Canon IVY churned out our pictures, with current rates varying between 38-52 seconds and an average of 44 seconds. Thats 2 seconds behind the HP projection, 14 seconds slower and 56 seconds quicker than the Lifeprint 2×3 and 55 seconds faster. However, remember that the final pictures of Lifeprint amount to around half the size of the output of these other models and hence require more time to develop.
As for the output quality, it is sufficient for what these prints are, as with the other Zink devices mentioned here. There is a notable deficiency in the depth of the black base color. I also noticed in most situations that the colors were always so little wrong. Not many, but enough, if you watched closely, you would notice.
The IVYs Zink prints run around 50 cents apiece, which is approximately typical between 2 by 3-inch Zink printers. Canon provides two amounts of paper, 20 sheets, and fifty sheets, and lists them correspondingly at $9.99 and $24.99, thus no discounts can be made for bulk purchases.

A Little Clunky But Does The Job
I got my ivy printer for my birthday/christmas! Super excited to print some more in the future, just printed my first pic.I will say that the app crashed 3 times the first time I used it. The third time it crashed I was using the photo editing feature, and lost what little edits I made to my picture.Overall Id definitely edit my pictures with the picsart app instead. This is also a minor thing, but it would be cool if the app icon was a little more nice. It is a bit of an eyesore compared to the polaroid zip app icon. But the printer itself is adorable, sleek, and super more convenient than a fujifilm camera. Just take your pics and print them wherever!

On occasion, good things come in small packages. The IVY is Canons smallest and lightest printer. While its not the first mini photo printer on the market, it certainly has its own unique take on what it is to offer portable prints. For instance, the IVY provides you the opportunity to be creative with your prints. You can apply stickers, photo frames, augmented reality face distortions to your images. Its easy to use the onboard photo editing tools for adding text, or drawing on your photos.

Our Analysis And Test Results
When was the last time someone gave you a real picture? Not an email or a text containing an image, but something you could hang on your fridge. The Canon IVY is about the same size as a phone, which means it’s easy to slide in a back pocket or a bag when you’re heading out to meet with friends. When you take that selfie, portrait, or landscape that captures the experience you’re having, you can edit and print the image right on the spot. Among mini printers, the IVY produces the best image quality and one of the more compact designs.

The Canon Mini Print App
Canon Mini Print is the app that you’ll use to operate this printer. Aside from some cosmetic variances, it works much the same as the software provided by its competitors. You load and print images from your phone’s storage or the internet. You can choose to print the photos as-is, or you can edit and/or enhance them using the app’s various correction filters and special-effects options.
One feature that Canon Mini Print offers that the others don’t, though, is tiling, or joining multiple prints at their edges to create larger images or collages. To compose these larger images, the software simply cuts the image into four pieces that you stick back together after they print.
One thing to note: Like on many other ZINK-based printers, the paper comes with a peel-to-stick adhesive layer on the back that lets you create stickers from your images. With the tiling feature, you can combine prints to create your bigger images or collages, and use the sticky stuff to make the prints stay in place relative to each other. Tiling is the one feature that allows the IVY to stand out from its competitors.
A Quirky Color Scheme
The Canon IVY measures 0.7 by 3.2 by 4.7 inches and weighs 5.6 ounces. These measurements are close enough to those of competing models that print the same size photossuch as the Lifeprint 2×3, the HP Sprocket, and the Polaroid Insta-Shareto be negligible. The big exception in this lot is the Lifeprint 3×4.5, which prints significantly larger photos. It measures 1 by 4.5 by 6.3 inches and weighs 12 ounces. That’s about a third again as big as the other printers mentioned here, which specialize in 2-by-3-inch output.
Canon offers the IVY in three color schemes, all two-tone, with white on top and a pastel shade around the edge and on the bottom. All are pleasant but somewhat unusual-looking colors for a printer.

Now Lets See In More Detail
We have seen a rise in pocket picture printers in recent years when you only operate from your smartphone or your tablet. A few of them are also considered at the top, particularly the HP Sprocket Photo Printer and the Lifeprint 2×3 Hyperphoto Printer. Canons IVY Mini Photo Printer comes with it now, which is effectively a me-too, in addition to some set apart print features. It prints as well as most rivals and features a user-friendly application to print and to cut your photographs and to enhance them. However, little sticks out in our tests regarding the Canon IVY. It is just as excellent as most competition, provided that small, full-fly prints from a mobile device are what you are wanting.

Should You Buy The Canon Ivy
The Canon IVY is a sweet little machine. It offers a relatively good resolution in both color and grayscale. It’s compact, inexpensive, and convenient to use. However, it is limited. You can only print on one kind of paper in the 2″ x 3″ format. Yet, the machine requires no maintenance besides the addition of paper. So, if you’re not trying to be the next Ansel Adams but are looking for an easy way to turn digital images into real photographs, this is the machine for you. This machine offers quite a lot of fun, novelty, and convenience for not much money.
Who Should Choose The Canon Ivy
The IVY is great for enhancing and sharing your memories with others. Smartphones are basically small computers, and the IVY is essentially a small photo printer for your phone. It allows you to bring shots worthy of Instagram to physical media. It allows you to share your favorite moments, like a Polaroid, except with far more control over the end product. It might not be as spontaneous as instant-film, but the artistic-minded people will appreciate the greater degree of control.
Desktop photo printers usually have size limits, and those limits are usually close to 3×5 or larger. The IVYs unique 2 x 3-inch sticky prints are a cool way of adding a personal touch to small photos, and of helping bring your favorite digital memories to life. Its not terribly hard to make larger prints by combining two-or-more sheets of the ZINK paper. Consequently, IVY is far more versatile than its small form would initially lead you to believe.
Its not going to replace an ordinary full sized photo printer, but the IVY certainly has something to offer. It makes it exceptionally easy to connect to your social media accounts. Its a good choice for social media aficionados, selfie-addicts, and people who love photography. Whether you have favorite photos, or you want to pull graphics off of the Internet, the IVY is a good choice for anyone interested in mobile photo printing.
