Windows, Mac, and Linux can all get along together, sharing files with each other on a network. They can also share printers, allowing you to use a single wired printer for all the computers on your home network.
This is only necessary if you have a wired printer connected directly to a computer, such as USB printer. Modern wireless printers connect to networks and share themselves, so you just have to connect to them.
Send Files With Share
If you have to share one or more files with another user inside the home network, office, or across the world only one time, you can use the Share feature, which comes built into File Explorer and most modern apps.
To share files using the Share feature on Windows 10, use these steps:
Click on the tab.
Quick tip: Alternatively, you can right-click the selection and choose the option in the context menu. Also, the option can be found in many apps that you acquire from the Microsoft Store.
Click the button.
Select the app, contact, or nearby sharing device.
Although this is a sharing feature, you’re technically sending the files to another destination. If you’re about to share files with a nearby device, note that “Nearby sharing” needs to be enabled on the source and destination computers to work correctly. You can learn more about nearby sharing, in this guide.

Connect Your Printer Directly To The Network
Most printers these days have networking built in. Some come equipped with Wi-Fi, some with Ethernet, and many;have both options available. Unfortunately, we cant give you precise instructions for getting this done, since how you do it depends on the type of printer you have. If your printer has an LCD display, chances are you can find the network settings somewhere in the Settings or Tools portion of the menus. If your printer has no display, youll probably have to rely on some series of physical button presses to tell it whether it should use its Wi-Fi or Ethernet network adapter. Some printers even have a dedicated easy connect button that can set up the Wi-Fi for you.
If youre having trouble setting up;a printer that connects directly to the network, the manufacturer should have instructions for making it happen. Check the manual that came with your printer or the manufacturers web site for information on hooking it up.
