Before you begin, make sure that your Lexmark printer and your computer are connected to the same network. To connect your printer to your internet, you can use an ethernet cable. You can also connect the printer to your Wi-Fi router.

If internet or Wi-Fi is not available, then you have to connect your printer directly to your computer. You need a printer to computer USB cable for it. The printer to computer USB cable has USB 2.0 Type A Male connector at one end and USB2.0 Type B Male connector on the other. For smaller printer models, the USB cable is sold separately.

Preparing The Lexmark Printer

  • Enter the IP address of the printer in an internet-enabled browser. If necessary, add the opened configuration web page of the printer to the list of trusted sites in the security settings of your browser.
  • Select the Lexmark printer configuration web page at Settings Embedded Solutions.

S To Install Lexmark Printer On Wireless Network In Windows

  • Connect the power cord of the Lexmark printer to a wall outlet and switch on the printer
  • Insert the setup CD provided with the Lexmark printer in your computer
  • Click Install and follow the on-screen instructions
  • When asked to choose Connection Type, select Wireless connection
  • In the Wireless Configuration dialog, select Guided Setup
  • Connect the computer and printer with a USB cable. This will be a temporary connection
  • After the printer is configured, the setup will prompt you to remove the USB cable
  • If you have a WiFi network with Mac restrictions, your Lexmark printer wont be able to connect to the wireless network. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Examine the back of the printer. You will find a sticker affixed containing a Mac ID. It is sometimes also called a Physical address.
  • Go to your router admin console and look for Wireless> Wireless Mac Filtering
  • Enter your Lexmark printers Mac address and give it some description

    Authenticating On The Lexmark Printer

    Precondition for Windows machines: The Personal Printer must be connected in the session .

    Precondition for Mac and Linux machines: One or more Personal Printer with native drivers must be connected in the session .

    • To print from an application, users must select Personal Printer as the printer.

    Take Note Of The Ip Address

    Once your printer is connected to the internet, its IP address appears on the control panel display. Take note of that IP address. You will use it to access the Embedded Web Server and update your printer settings more conveniently.

    For example, if you want to set up the scan to email feature, you can access the Embedded Web Server to configure the settings easily.

    First, make sure your printer is powered on and plugged in if it is a wired printer. If it is a Wi-Fi printer, make sure it is connected to the same network as your computer.

    Windows 11 automatically downloads the software your printer needs to function when you add the device.

    Scan To A Computer Using Windows Fax And Scan

    On this stage, your printer must be connected to the network and is already added on your computer.

  • From the computer, open Windows Fax and Scan

    Windows Fax and Scan is native app for Windows 10. If the application is not available on your computer, you can download a copy from the Microsoft website.

  • On the upper-left corner of the display, click New Scan.

    If no printer is added, clicking New Scan prompts and error.

  • From the Source menu, select the scanner source.

    Depending on where you load the original document, select either Feeder or Flatbed.

  • If necessary, adjust the color format, file type, and resolution.
