    Magnetic Stripe Card Printing

    Hello, Can

If youre want to use PVC cards with a magnetic stripe, you may want to add an optional magnetic stripe encoder to your printer. Adding an encoder will give you the ability to both read and encode ID cards at the time of printing. While most ID card printers have magnetic stripe encoder options, some entry-level ID printer dont. Investing in a printer with magnetic stripe capability is a smart way to save money in the future because the vast majority of ID printers cannot be upgraded. Adding an encoder now is a major cost-saving solution, especially if your company decides to use PVC cards with magnetic stripes at some point in time. If youre considering upgrading to magnetic stripe printing, the Evolis Zenius Expert and Evolis Primacy card printers are the only two models we offer that will allow you to add an magnetic stripe to your ID cards later on.

Do I Need A Single Sided Or Dual Sided Id Card Printer

Depending on how much information you want to include on the ID cards you print, you may need an ID card printer with dual-sided printing capability. Dual-sided ID card printers have a built-in flipper that automatically turn an ID cards over from front to backside printing. Generally, a dual-sided card printer will cost $400 to $1,000 more than a comparable single-sided printer. Most entry-level printers only offer single-sided printing. Now, youre probably thinking: Cant I just flip the ID card over manually to print on the other side? While you can technically do that, if you have hundreds or even thousands of ID badges to print, manual double-sided printing will be a time-consuming, labor intensive and expensive process. If you decide to go the manual double-sided printing route, your fingers must be completely free from any oils and dust to avoid accidentally blemishing the ID cards. Its also critical that you store printed ID cards in a clean, dry place to avoid damages.

Can Hp Deskjet 3720 Scan Id Card

I want to know whether HP Deskjet 3720 can scan ID cards with the size and thickness of credit card?

    03-23-201703:56 AM – edited 03-23-201706:01 AM

You will be able to scan ID cards. Keep the card at extreme right for printer to detect. The light will glow once the card is detected. Hit copy. What you might have to do now, is push the card slightly when the printer is trying to pull by making a copy. Hope this helps!

I understand you are trying to scan ID card. Scanning does not matter the thickness of the ID but if you would like to make a copy of ID card this Printer will not do.

    Please check the specification below.

Theres An Easier Way To Do Id Learn How

Whether youre a small, mid-size or large organization, selecting the right ID badge printer can be daunting. With so many ID Badge printing products out on the market, how do you know what model is right for business now and as it grows? Generally, most ID card printer manufacturers make 2 to 3 printer models that can be categorized into entry-level, mid-level and professional enterprise ID badge printers. But before you decide what type of printer is best for your business, its critical to have a clear understanding of the different features offered by these three categories of ID card printers.

Is Your Scanner Windows 10 Compatible

    Zebra ZC300 ID Card Printer

Before moving on, we need to make a couple of points. First, your scanners manufacturer may supply drivers for Windows 10, but the device itself may not specifically support the platform.

For example, we tested the following tools using Canons PIXMA MG3520 all-in-one printer with a built-in scanner. The recommended drivers date back to July 2015, though Canon released a newer suite six months later. Thats still three-year-old software.

That said, the scanner portion of this AIO printer would not appear in the native Windows tools but worked correctlyusing a wireless connection, in factthrough Canons software.

If you run into similar problems, you may have an older printer or scanner thats not fully compatible with Windows 10. The device may also require a direct USB-based connection if used outside the manufacturers third-party tools. For AIO printers, you may need to tweak its networking settings, so your Windows 10 PC recognizes the scanner component in addition to the overall printer unit.
