Before you choose your labels, consider the type of printer you are using. As a rule of thumb, Laser printers and toner based photocopiers are suitable for printing on labels of all types. However an Inkjet printer is not suitable for printing on labels with a gloss surface, eg. Waterproof labels, Metallic labels, or Fluorescent labels.

I just bought this printer and set it up this morning. I bought it to print stickers. I use the cricut design space to design it and the printable sticker paper. I have changed the paper type to plain thick, specialty, and photo paper. Each time it either doesnt accept the paper or it only prints half of the design. It also prints streaks on the whole paper or if it rejects the paper so that waste expensive sticker paper as well. I need to know the proper way to print this paper.

Printing Labels/nametags On Officejet 6978

Im looking at an OfficeJet 6978 all in one – typically would use for home printing as well as light office.
One of the things I typically do is print onto Avery labels – either sticky nametags or refill badges. Both go on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of labels, that are perforated so they can be easily separated after printing.
Currently, I use a Epson printer, that has a manual tray in the back to feed these items through, so it doesnt curl while feeding. I cant seem to find any indication of a manual tray for printing so i can feed these items in as needed on the 6978. Am I missing somewhere in the specs that this kind of feed does exist. If not, does anyone have experience printing nametags with an OfficeJet 6978 through the regular paper tray, and does this cause any problems with tags perforating while printing or stickers coming off while printing. Given I print these kind of items at least monthly, this is a concern for me.

There are two main kinds of printers. Inkjet and laser. Inkjet are cheaperbut run out of ink faster. Laser are more expensive and their ink refills are a little more pricey initially- but the can print up to 5,000 sheets before needing a refill. Inkjets print slow. Laser prints fast Inkjets are generally smaller, Laser printers generally run larger.
The majority of the sticker paper that I have found are for inkjet So Im going to stick with Inkjet printers for stickers since its all I use!
Printer Troubleshooting: Colors Arent Printing Like What You See On Your Computer
I have found out photos show brighter on the screen so when you go to print them it over saturates them and they come out more dark.
I really dont see this too much when printing stickers. When Im printing from my silhouette, I have noticed that my colors are my accurate. When I do printables on cardstock, they tend to come out darker! Not sure if its the silhouette or sticker paper that makes the colors accurate but Ill take it either way!
You might need to head to youtube and learn about your printer and printing from a computer screen. Different papers you will get different results. You can also go into your printer settings and play around with the color settings!
