Blot The Stain With Rubbing Alcohol

Use a paper towel or clean cloth to blot rubbing alcohol on the stain. This will dilute the stain and make it easier to remove it in the wash. The towel underneath may become wet and discolored from the ink leaching outif this happens, move the garment to a clean, dry section of the towel to prevent the area from reabsorbing any of the removed ink. Continue this process until there is no more ink to remove. Rinse the stained area completely free of the rubbing alcohol; multiple rinses may be necessary.

The Ink Stain Removal Trials
During my first round of ink stain removal trials, I compared two different products that I had read promising things about online: hairspray and hand sanitizer.
Both worked quite well at removing pen ink from fabric, which I chalked up to the fact that both products contain a powerful solvent in the form of ethanol. I figured if ethanol was the key, then why shouldnt rubbing alcohol would work as well or better than hairspray or hand sanitizer?
So I decided to do a second round of ink removal trials, this time comparing four potential solvents: hairspray, hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, and nail polish remover. And to my genuine surprise, hand sanitizer emerged as the clear winner!
I still cant explain exactly what gives hand sanitizer the edge that the other three candidates clearly lack, but I suppose the results speak for themselves! If I encounter an ink stain in the future , Ill be reaching for hand sanitizer from now.
Heres how you can use hand sanitizer to remove ink stains of your own!

I have always heard that hair spray works. I would imagine some of those spray ons that you use before doing the laundry would work too.
Use cheap hair spray like aqua net and really douse it well. Rub it after it sets for about 5 minutes. Repeat if necessary.
I use hairspray on the ink spot, then blot both sides of fabric, apply another spray of hairspray, repeat blotting. Then spray with prewash stain remover and wash at once. Works for me.
