Turn It Off And On Again
Its a classic that all gadget-lovers swear by: turning it off and on again. It worked for The IT Crowd and it should work for you.
‘With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall socket,’ HP explains. Once disconnected, leave the printer for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. The lights should then come back on. Press and hold the ‘resume’ button for 10-20 seconds and then release it.
Install The Ink Cartridges
Install the HP ink cartridges that came with your printer.
Lift the ink cartridge access door by using the recessed areas on the sides of the printer until it locks into place.
The carriage moves slightly to the left.
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
Remove an ink cartridge from its package. Be careful to touch only the black plastic on the ink cartridge.
Remove the plastic tape from the ink cartridge, and then discard or Recycle the package and tape.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles, or reapply the protective tape. Touching these areas can result in an ink system failure.
With the nozzles toward the printer, insert the ink cartridge into its slot, and then close the ink lid until the ink snaps into place.
Note:
Install the color ink cartridge on the left and the black ink cartridge on the right.
Repeat these steps for the other ink cartridge.
Lower the ink cartridge access door, and then press gently to lock it into place.
Note:
If you have not done printer alignment during app or software installation, the printer automatically prints the alignment page after 3 pages are printed. Follow the instructions on the printer alignment page to complete alignment.
How Can I Reset My Hp Envy 6000 To Its Factory Settings
If you want to reset your HP Envy 6000 printer and restore it to its original factory settings, complete the following steps:
- Open an ink cartridge door, as this will tell the printer to stop what it is doing and wait for an additional command.
- Press and hold the power button along with the wireless internet button icon for at least 5 seconds while the cartridge door is still open. Pressing both of these buttons simultaneously will send a signal to the printer to reset and restore itself to its original factory settings.

Hi everyone, I’ve moved in to a new flat and using a different WIFI now however, I can’t connect my ENVY 6000 printer to the new wifi at all. I tried HP smart app to do it, it’s saying offline and not appearing when I search as a new set up either.

I understand you are not able to connect the printer to the new network. Follow the steps mentioned in this document – Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
- This printer supports WPA encryption. Check if the router supports the same.
- Also, the printer cannot be connected to a guest/university network. It has to be a personal router.

Connect The Printer With The Wireless Setup Wizard
Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.
Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, and then select Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select the name of your network, and then enter the password to complete the connection.
Note:
If the Wireless Setup Wizard is not listed, select Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS, select Push Button, and then follow the steps to connect to the network.
Test By Printing Something
It really is that simple. You can now print directly from the HP Smart app. But also the printer is on your home WiFi network, so other devices connected to the network should be able to see it too. How Can I Reset My Printers Wireless Internet Settings
If you do not want to restore the entire HP Envy 6000 printer but you do want to reset its internet connections, you can do so by completing the following steps:
- Press and hold the wireless internet icon button for a total of 3 seconds. Do not hold the power button in conjunction with the wireless internet icon button, as this will restore the entire HP Envy 6000 back to its factory settings. Simply press and hold the wireless internet icon button for a total of three seconds to completely wipe the current internet and wireless settings you have stored in your printer.

Remove The Printer From The Box
Remove the printer from the box, and then remove all tape, stickers, and packing materials.
To avoid setup problems and potential printer damage, make sure all internal packaging material is removed, all doors are closed and trays reinserted before turning on the printer.
Remove the printer and power cord from the box.
Remove all tape from the outside of the printer.
Lift the ink cartridge access door by using the recessed areas on the sides of the printer until it locks into place.
Remove the cardboard from the print area.
Lower the ink cartridge access door, and then press gently to lock it into place.
Recycle all packing materials.
Plug the printer into an electrical outlet, the printer turns on automatically.
Do not connect a USB cable at this time. The connection to the computer is established during the software installation.
Connect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.
The printer turns on automatically.
If the printer does not turn on automatically, press the Power button.
How Do I Know If I Need To Reset My Hp Envy 6000 Printer
You can attempt to unplug your HP Envy 6000 printer and plug it back in to determine if this will resolve the issue you are experiencing. You can also attempt an alternative solution or attempt to pull up the main menu of the printer to restart your intended action. The printer automatically prints an Alignment Page after paper is loaded and setup cartridges are installed. Follow the instructions on the printer Alignment Page to complete alignment.
Open the scanner lid.
Place the Alignment Page with the print-side down on the scanner glass, and then align the page with the indicated corner.
Close the scanner lid.
Connect The Printer Using Wi
Use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on your router to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.
Put the printer in WPS connection mode.
Most printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
HP Deskjet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Press and hold theWi-Fi button and the Power button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the blue bar flashes.
Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.
Wait for the Wireless light or bar on the printer to stop flashing. The printer is now connected to the network.

Use the Wireless and Cancel buttons to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.
Press the Cancel button
Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for three seconds until the printer restarts.

After the printer restarts, wait 60 seconds until the Wireless light blinks blue.
