It makes much more sense to build the enclosure yourself from;locally sourced materials.

Three or six faces

These printers are usually in a cylindrical shape with three or six faces. How they work is vastly different from the other style printers.


Affixed to 3 sides of the printers are the linear rail and belt mechanisms. There is an arm attached to each one of the belts that slides along the linear rail. The arms of each of the 3 side meet in the middle where the hotend is connected. When one arm moves up vertically, the hotend moves in the direction of that rail. When it moves down, it moves away. If two move up, the hotend moves towards the center between the two rails, and the opposite when moving down. All 3 axis move in conjunction to create even flat layers.

There are no other moving axis parts involved. The bed is stationary and is on the bottom of the printer.

What Was The First Thing You Printed With It

This was just a test print. Basically, it was supposed to be a small box-like shape that was checking the calibration of the 3D printerit was terrible! The plastic did not stick, the layers didnt stack just take a look at the picture. After some calibration, it got better.

Build Your Own Concrete 3d Printer With This Detailed Instructable

Artist, architecture student and robot builder Clayton Muhleman teamed up with his fellow Instructable user Alan Cation to create a cool mobile 3D printer that can 3D print large-scale objects using sawdust. The project was just a beginning however, as the pair really wanted to convert it into a printer that could use concrete as a printing medium. So in order to better understand exactly how concrete would work as a 3D printable powder material the pair put their heads together to create a cool, and relatively simple, do-it-yourself Concrete 3D Printer. While they both admit that they have more experimenting to do before they can adapt concrete to their mobile 3D printer concept, they liked their project enough to share it with the Instructables community.

Aesthetic Finish: Priming Masking And Painting

Priming ensures paint adhesion to the surface and can alert you to where you may need to sand more or trim support marks you may have missed. Start with the smaller parts so youll need to cover less when painting the bulk of the area with the main color.
