Do you need to print a full-page design? Are you planning on using a 4 x 6 sheet? Make sure that you choose labels that will provide the best results for the design you have in mind.
Print beautiful borderless designs on .
Designs that fill the entire label are known as full bleed designs and will need to print beyond the border of the label to achieve this look. This is why Print-to-the-Edge labels are perfect for projects that are focused around colorful and impactful designs.
Bordered designs work great with classic .
Labels without this extra space are better for designs that use borders or no background color at all. This condensed layout also allows for more labels per sheet, making this a more cost-effective option for projects that are more practical and less design intensive. For example, address labels for mailing lists and file folder labels would work perfectly with this sheet design.
Print and cut out custom shapes with . Quickly handwrite labels on the spot with .
However, with full sheet labels, make sure that your design stays away from the non-printable edges of the sheet. Although some printers are capable of printing to the edge of the sheet, most printers will leave behind a blank margin around the sheet.

Misaligned Label Templates Printers Starting Print Position
Misalignment Problem: All your sticky labels are misaligned in the SAME direction by the SAME amount.
Fix The Problem: Adjust the page margins of your label template.
In Word, click on the Layout tab at the top of the page. Click on Margins and select Custom Margins from the list. If you are using a PDF template, the method depends on the software you are using. Consult the suppliers website/forum for advice if you arent sure how to change page margins.
Adjust the TOP and/or LEFT margins as follows when your designs print out:
- High: increase the top margin
- Low: decrease the top margin
- Too far left: increase the left margin
- Too far right: decrease the left margin
Its best to measure the misalignment and adjust your margins by that amount. Do a test print onto paper after changing your margins and compare the test print to your sheet labels to see if the issue is fixed. If not, alter the margins a bit more and test print your template again. Repeat until the misalignment is no more!
Avoid The Problem: Unless you know where your printers starting print position is, its difficult to determine if it is likely to cause a problem without printing your template. Avoid wasting your self adhesive labels by test printing your label template onto paper to check for this issue BEFORE using your sheet labels.

Solution: Incorporate A Blank Border Throughout Your Design
You’ll want to modify your design to adjust for any non-printable areas. Test your printer’s non-printable margins before getting started.
Once you know the specific perimeter for your printer, consider how to adjust your design. While you have non-printable margins on all four sides of your label sheet, it may only affect one side of each label.
We recommend removing any background colors or full-color designs, or adding a blank border around each label. This will help prevent any unprinted sections from looking out of place.
If you’re using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, you can see your printer’s non-printable margins in the preview pane of the print dialog box. Look for a gray outline around the sheet anything within that gray outline won’t print.
