Printing From An Iphone Or Ipad

  • 1Determine if your printer supports AirPrint. This feature allows iOS devices to send print jobs directly to the printer. Look for the AirPrint logo on your printer or for an AirPrint option in the printer’s Settings menu.
  • Some printers need to be configured to use AirPrint first.
  • AirPrint printers will need to be connected to the same network as your iOS device. Follow the steps at the top of this article to connect your printer to the network.
  • If your printer doesn’t support AirPrint, you’ll need to find a printing app from your printer’s manufacturer.
  • 2Open the app that you want to print from. Not all apps support AirPrint, but most apps from Apple and other major developers do. You’ll be most likely to find AirPrint options in apps that can open documents, email, and pictures.
  • If an app doesn’t support printing, you can take screenshots and print those.
  • 3Open the item you want to print. Use the app to open the document, picture, or email that you want to print.

    Add A Wireless Printer

The steps to install a wireless printer may vary by manufacturer. In general, however, modern printers today will detect your network and automate the installation.

    1. Use the printer’s LCD or touchscreen panel to enter the wireless setup. On my Epson printer this is under Setup > Wireless LAN Settings.

    2. Select your Wi-Fi network. You’ll need to know your home network’s SSID, which you can find by hovering your mouse over the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar.

    3. Enter your network password.

In some cases, you might need to temporarily connect your printer to your computer via USB to install software. But otherwise, that’s it. You should find your printer automatically added in the Printers & scanners section under Settings > Devices.

If you run into trouble, make sure your printer is relatively close to your computer and not too far from your wireless router. If your printer has an Ethernet jack, you could also connect it directly to your router and manage it with a browser interface.

Set Up The Connection On Your Printer

Click the Start button on your Windows PC, then type printer in the search box. Then click Add a printer or scanner.

That launches the Printers & scanners page in the Settings app. Next, click Add a printer or scanner next to the + sign in the right-hand panel of the box that pops up: the wizard will look for your printer’s wi-fi signal and walk you through connecting it.

  • If your printer isn’t in the list, next to The printer that I want isn’t listed, select Add manually, and then follow the instructions to add it manually using one of the options.

    Notes:

    • If you use wireless access points, extenders or multiple wireless routers with separate SSIDs, you’ll need to ensure that you’re connected to the same network as the printer for your PC to find and install it.

    • If you have a new wireless printer that hasnt been added to your home network, read the instructions that came with the printer, and check the printer manufacturers website to learn more and to get up-to-date software for your printer.

    Restart All Your Devices

A restart helps fix any software glitches that could cause your wireless printer and connected devices not to work properly together. The wireless printer, router, computer/other device, wireless access point and modem all rely on your home or office network in order to connect to the internet.

However its configured, if one device acts up, it may affect all the others. A restart can get the network humming again, after which you can try the printer to see if it works.
